The Arrow Lakes Caribou Society would like to thank the Nakusp and Area Community Foundation (NACF) for their generous support of the Caribou Maternity Pen Project. The community foundation, which has been contributing towards Nakusp and area community projects for almost 20 years, granted ALCS with funding to buy a metal storage container for the maternity pen site. The storage container now has the pen blind built on top, for the Caribou Shepherd to watch the feeding area, and to record observations of the caribou. The Maternity Pen Project is a recovery effort to help increase the survival rate of the Central Selkirk sub-population of Mountain Woodland Caribou.
